What arrives
- Registration changes: a seat from the waitlist, a seat the organiser gave you, being removed
- On paid events: a held seat, a hold running out or released, a payment confirmed, a late payment
- An event you are in being cancelled, and an event you run being cancelled by an admin
- Being added as a judge
- The result of an organiser application
- Changes the BracketOps admins make to your account: its type, Player ID or year of birth
- Replies to requests you sent the admins
- Announcements from the BracketOps admins
What does not
- An event's date or time changing, or its deadlines moving — check the event page
- An event being restored after a cancellation
- Anything about a Player ID before it is linked to your account (one waiting for a check is not linked yet): nothing is filled in from before yours was linked
- Anything at all if the Player ID on a roster has no BracketOps account
Notices are kept for 60 days, and you can delete any of them yourself. If the admins take a Player ID off an account, the notices about it go with it. One account per person — each child needs their own, with their own inbox.
If the Player ID you enter has played at BracketOps events under a different name, we can't link it to your account automatically. Your home page and your profile then show Player ID check pending, usually with a code such as K7P-2QX.
The card tells you what you can still do: check that your first and last name match your Play! Pokémon account and save again, or show the organiser of your next BracketOps event your Play! Pokémon ID and the code. Once the organiser has checked it, the Player ID is linked.
Until then, an event's registration card says: “Your Player ID is waiting for a check, so you can't register online yet. The organiser can still enter you at the event.” If you typed the wrong Player ID, use Typed it wrong? Cancel and enter it again.
If the card says Player ID not linked, we couldn't link that Player ID to your account. If the card asks you to enter it again, do that; if the new card shows a code, show the organiser your Play! Pokémon ID and that code at your next BracketOps event. If the card only offers to contact us, entering it again won't help: only an admin can sort it out.
If the Player ID is already linked to another BracketOps account, the card says so, and we pass it to an admin to sort out. To ask about it, or if you think a Player ID is yours, contact us.
